GMail Mobile upgraded
It was a while since Gmail’s mobile application received an updated. I was of the opinion that the guys would be busy with Android and will drop an upgrade parallel to Android release. But google surprised everyone by silently releasing a 2.0 version to upgrade the v1.5. Gmail Mobile 1.5 satisfied the occasional user but irritated the regular user. Google read its users’ vibes and came up with Gmail Mobile v2.0 with an improved performance in speed. I also liked the cool mac-like scroll animation. Now I can have more than one gmail / pop3 mail accounts in this version as it supports multiple account management and switching between them is a real breeze.. The highlight would be the offline support where you can re-read your mails without connecting to the server. This could save a lot of money users like me who pay per mb of data usage. It was possible to store only one draft mail in v1.5, but now with v2.0 the user can store multiple drafts. The 35 new languages supported includes Hindi, unfortunately no Tamil this time. It is said in the features list that is supports a new array of keyboard shortcuts, but I don’t own a Qwerty mobile to test this. If you have one, go ahead, test it and tell us.
